Facebook wanted an exciting, innovative way to show off the power of their data at a one-day event hosted in Paris for Facebook staff and selected partners. They specifically wanted to display how the sports data they collected could be used to assist businesses in their advertising and marketing efforts. KEY DATA Who: Facebook EMEA What: An Interactive Sports Data Display Where: Paris, France When: February 2016 Tech: MultiTaction touch-interface SOLUTION INITION used the MultiTaction Touch Interface in conjunction with a range of data sets linked to various different sports to demonstrate the depth of data that Facebook have at their hands. Users were able to focus on a particular sport and then delve deeper into it in terms of key facts and figures, as well as social buzz and interesting fact and case studies. Through the collaborative touch interface, the user was also able to compare different sports simultaneously. RESULTS FROM FACEBOOK “We are a technology company and pride ourselves on spearheading and being at the forefront of innovation. Through my role in events, we care constantly trying to find great ways to show content in as interesting and impactful way as possible - the multi touch table helped us achieve that goal. We've never used anything like this in EMEA – it is the first of it's kind at our events and drew a lot of attention from guests. Rather than being faced with facts and figures on a one-sheeter, guests could now digest information at their own pace - expanding and delving deeper into whatever they found interesting. It was a real hit at the show and the delight on guests faces was visible. The whole team at INITION were an absolute dream to work with – efficient, flexible and unbelievably helpful – would love the opportunity to work with them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to any of my colleagues.” - Saba Hudson-Kozdoj, EMEA Events Manager

We’re all very aware of the Hololens as a tool for engineering applications, but how can it have practical applications in a commerical environment? How can it be used to reduce our carbon footprint? Microsoft turned to us to answer these quesitons.

Following the queality of Hololens work, produced in collaboration with Nike, Microsoft regard us as the go-to global partner to showcase the power of Unreal engine on Hololens 2.

The brief was to produce a single experience which would showcase high value items in a commercial, monitoring and engineering capacity. Being me, I decided the best way to do this would be to wrap it into a single narrative journey. Levearging our contacts at Ford and the recent release of “Ford vs Ferrari, I decded to focus on the Ford GT40 Mark II, as the narrative vehicle.

From concept, through script, UX and animation, I created a narrative of increasing interaction complexity. The expereince itself serving as the tutorial. Starting with the beauty section which was investigating the innovative frame of the car and culminating in the engineering section which allowed you to change the brake pads.

This was a crack squad of top people. Who you ask? Top. People.

Long time colloborators such as Alessanro Rustighi, UI designer extraordinaire, worked alongside myself and the coding king, Nacho Fernández. First pick sound designer and composer Andreas Wittich layed down haptic feeling UI sounds and the backing track which felt inviting and engaging, without being overbearing.

It serves as a Microsoft, best in class, case study of what the HL2 is capable of when combined with UE. Check out that case study here.
