INTERACTIVE GALLERY INSTALLATION

As the Creative Director of the groundbreaking “Made in Code” project, I led a multidisciplinary team in reimagining the intersection of fashion, technology, and digital creativity. Our mission was to revolutionize how we experience fashion by harnessing AI-driven motion capture, fabric simulation, and immersive design. This installation, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, presents a state of the art creative and technical collaboration at the V&A. It showcases the potential of digital media in fashion, performance, film, games, archives and cultural contexts.

The fashion was designed by renowned fashion designer Maria Grachvogel. Sensorless motion capture was provided by Move.ai allowing users to seemlessly have their personality captured. This was combined in Numerion’s AAA-motion picture software. This allowed visitors to view their own motion in unique haute couture garments. The V&A saw this as a way to look into the future of how vistors could interact with their vast, unique and often fragile, fashion collection. While we subverted the idea of high end fashion by using holobody to eliminating gender and body, allowing anyone to celebrate thier motion and see it displayed in one of London’s renowned Museums and beautiful buildings.

A Celebration of Life in Motion

We harnessed Move.ai’s markerless motion capture technology to capture participants’ raw energy and unique movements. Every twirl, gesture, and leap became a testament to the beauty of being alive—a dance of creativity and expression.

High Fashion, Reimagined

Renowned designer Maria Grachvogel’s iconic hollowbody concept took center stage. With Numerion’s fabric simulation, we transformed garments into dynamic sculptures that danced and flowed with participants’ movements. High fashion became accessible to everyone, transcending body types and backgrounds.

The V&A Stage

Our project unfolded within the hallowed halls of the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). This prestigious setting amplified our message, reaching a diverse audience and sparking vital conversations about the future of fashion.

Democratizing Technology

Move.ai’s phone-based motion capture empowered anyone with a smartphone to become a fashion muse. We shattered barriers, proving that cutting-edge technology can be accessible and inclusive. Fashion innovation was no longer reserved for the elite—it belonged to all.

Unrivaled Realism

Numerion’s fabric simulation brought our virtual garments to life with unprecedented accuracy and detail. Every fold, ripple, and flutter was a testament to the power of digital craftsmanship. Realism merged seamlessly with imagination, creating an unforgettable experience.

“Made in Code” wasn’t just an exhibition; it was a testament to the transformative power of AI in fashion. It celebrated experimentation, collaboration, and the limitless possibilities when creativity meets cutting-edge technology. I was honored to lead this incredible journey.
